Shanta Foundation is dedicating the Tom Grams Memorial Fund to provide dental care for children in remote villages in Myanmar (formerly Burma). Shanta was fortunate to have Dr Grams organize and provide dental care for our first mobile clinic in March 2007. We are greatly saddened by his death and hope that his memory can live on through the good work that this Fund provides.
This Memorial Fund will provide funds for partnering with local and US dentists to provide education, toothbrushes, examinations and cleanings for all area children.
Shanta Foundation has been revitalizing poor rural villages in the Shan State of Myanmar since 2006 through education, health care and economic development. These Pa-O villagers have no access to a dentist and do not understand the value of brushing their teeth. The consequences, over time, are years of painful rotting teeth and gum disease.
Vision We envision a world where everyone has enough, where all communities are healthy and safe, and individuals are free to flourish.
Mission
We collaborate with underserved communities to enhance the basic quality of life for children, women and men through education, health, and economic sustainability.
